Home Buyer Show to Attract Record Crowds
The 2009 Home Buyer Shows are gearing up to welcome record crowds, with many consumers keen to secure their slice of the Australian dream after a long period of being priced out of the market.
Last year's shows were an overwhelming success, attracting over 25,000 visitors and more than 300 exhibitors across Brisbane, Melbourne and Sydney.
With interest rates at record lows, property prices cooling, substantial Government grants still available and a strong rental market, home buyers and property investors have returned to the market in large numbers.
The Housing Industry Association - Commonwealth Bank First Home Buyer Affordability Index posted its second biggest improvement on record last quarter, indicating it is now cheaper than at any time in the last five years to buy or own a home.
A national review by Australian Property Monitors has also uncovered 2,600 postcodes with a median house price under $350,000, providing first home buyers with a range of affordable options.
one of the most comprehensive educational seminar programs in Australia
The Home Buyer Show is the only major event in Australia dedicated to property buyers and is simply a must-attend event for anybody looking to buy a primary home or investment property.
"These are difficult global economic times but for many people now is a good time to investigate the property market - whether it's a first home, a bigger place for an expanding family or a compact dwelling for retirement. Smart buyers will do their homework and their sums - consider their options and see whether it makes sense to buy a home now," said Commonwealth Minister for Housing, Tanya Plibersek.
"Attending the Home Buyer Show, with its informative expert seminars and dozens of exhibitors, can help would-be investors make a more informed decision on their next step in the property market", continued Ms Plibersek.
The 2009 Home Buyer Shows will present one of the most comprehensive educational seminar programs ever staged in Australia providing buyers and investors with all the impartial, independent information they need to help finance, find and buy their next home.
